John Flower is the Managing Director of ASR Underwriting Agencies Pty Ltd, a company he co-founded in 2001 before becoming the sole owner in 2008.
He began his career with a Queensland-based Insurance Broker in 1993 where he developed an interest in the hospitality industry. He managed the company’s wholesale specialty lines and scheme-based business for six years while developing insurance products for niche markets, industries and professions before establishing ASR as an independent entity.
Over the past decade, ASR has grown from offering one niche product to an agency supporting more than 1600 brokers across Australia. John is committed to finding solutions in both low and high hazard industries. He enjoys creating new products and writing bespoke wordings, working in tandem with brokers to develop insurance programs to suit the needs of their clients.
A husband and father of two, John enjoys keeping fit and loves cycling. He regularly rides in charity events to raise funds for medical research, a passion sparked by a cancer scare in his family.
